A child is a person whom a parent should cherish,

So why do many parents treat them as though they were rubbish?

When a baby enters this world filled with anguish and pain,

Why do some parents threat them with so much disdain?

A little girl is someone who is so sweat and pretty,

How could any adult make her do things that are dirty?

How is it some Dads treat them so badly?

We say little girls are made of sugar and spice,

Making it hard to believe some people don't treat them nice,

We hear that little boys consist of frogs and toads,

It is hard to imagine why some lead them down the wrong roads.

Why do we do things to make children bruise.

If we do things right we can assure that they do not loose.

As parents, God gives us the right amount of time,

To help our sweet children grow up to be fine.

God gives them to us as our personal treasure,

Dear Lord, teach us to be humble and to be mild,

So we will never forget that our little boy or girl is only a child.
